PORTONIAN offer a new and exciting way to learn to drive where the training is carefully planned, expertly delivered and combined with modern training resources and modern vehicles to ensure that your training is both effective and enjoyable. Before you can start your driving lessons you need to have a provisional driving licence. Therefore, if you do not have one, you will need to apply for one from the DVLA (click here). You can apply for your provisional car driving licence up to three months before your seventeenth birthday. Provided you have a valid provisional driving licence you can start your driving lessons before you take your theory test. Combining your theory study with your driving lessons gives the added advantage of being able to consult your instructor on various matters relating to the theory test and your theory study, (remember, we also offer evening & weekend theory study classes, ask for details). There is one simple secret to our continued success, and that is to inject fun into your driving lessons. If you don’t enjoy something, you won’t do it, and you will have little enthusiasm to continue with it in the future. That is why PORTONIAN strive to make every lesson fun and informative. Research has shown that people learn much quicker (this means you save money) if the learner understands exactly what the aims and objectives of the lesson are, it is for this reason that all PORTONIAN instructors follow the syllabus laid out by the Driving Standards Agency to pass the driving test.
